How to Make a Fresh and Easy Peach Lemonade

Fresh, delicious and simple!

How to make fresh peach lemonade sugar lemons peaches mint water

How to make a fresh and easy peach lemonade drink using fresh grown ripe peaches and lemons.  Every year we always have way too many peaches on our trees and I’m always looking for extra ways to use them.  This easy to make fresh peach lemonade is always a great way to use extra or on sale peaches.  An easy and simple fresh drink to make and when you have that special guest visiting, they’ll think you went out of your way to make something so special!

If you have extra peaches or found some on sale, don’t be afraid to freeze them to use for later.  When using fresh peaches, I usually let the peaches soften and ripen a little more so I get that extra fresh sugar from the peaches.    This recipe will serve between 4-8 cups, depending how much you dilute to taste.

You will need:

Pitcher

Juicer

3 medium peaches

1 cup sugar

¾ cup lemon juice

4 cups water

Fresh mint

Next wash and dry the peaches. I cubed the peaches to make it easier to soften and so they are evenly tender.  the peach skin may be left on or you may peel them, although I’ve tried it both ways and I can’t tell the difference.

I soften the lemons and use a manual hand fruit juicer.  If you’re making more you may want to invest in a nicer juicer.  I personally love the  Jack LaLane juicer which I use for fresh apple juice.  No lemons? Substitute store bought lemon juice.

Add 2 cups of water the cubed peaches and the 1 cup sugar to a saucepan.  Bring to boil and then reduce the heat.  Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.  **If you are using a sugar substitute, make sure NOT to boil it instead add it at the end.

Make sure the peaches are tender but not broken down.  Cooking the peaches and sugar too much will sometimes give it a slight burnt sugar flavor.

Remove from heat and let it cool down.  Blend the peaches using a hand held blender like this Braun hand mixer or regular blender like my favorite Vitamix.  Blend it to desired consistency.  Strain if you desire a lighter juice.

In a pitcher add the peach mixture, fresh lemon juice, 2 or more cups of water or sparkling water.  Adjust lemon flavor, sugar and water to taste.  Refrigerate and serve on ice with lemon or peach slices and mint.

Yummy! Have you ever made it without the sugar? I assume refridgerate until used, how long does it usually last?

Yes! When the peaches are really ripe, they’re so sweet already there’s no need for sugar. I would keep it up to a week in the refrigerator but with 3 boys it doesn’t last a day.
